Terni is an endlessly fascinating city in central Italy that uniquely blends its modern, ancient and industrial features. With St. Valentine as its patron saint, Terni is world famous for being the 'City of Lovers', making it a top romantic destination for couples and people on honeymoons. St. Valentine's tomb can be visited in its resting place, the Basilica di San Valentino.
There are also many must-visit ancient sights just outside of Terni, like Narni, and Amelia, which dates back to the 3rd Century BC. The city boasts lakes and much open space, perfect for hiking and mountain biking, along with a nature reserve ideal for birdwatching. Cheese, salami and pasta such as Strangozzia are among the famous local cuisine.
