LOCATION
The Camping Lago Azzurro is located in Dormelletto, on the southwestern shore of Lake Maggiore, within a nature reserve. It is close to Arona, with its lakeside promenade and historical sites such as Piazza del Popolo, the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria, the archaeological museum, the Colossus of San Carlo, and the Rocca Borromeo. Nearby are Stresa, Angera, Luino, and Sesto Calende, while boats depart from the ports of Arona and Stresa for the Borromean Islands. About one kilometer away is the Lagoni di Mercurago Nature Park; other local attractions include Mottarone, the Hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso, the Sacro Monte, and Orta San Giulio. The area also offers sports and recreational activities, including golf, mountain biking, rafting, ziplining, go-karting, and boat rentals.

ACCOMMODATIONS
The campground offers shaded or sunny campsites, with gravel or grass surfaces, varying in size, and all equipped with 3- or 6-amp electrical hookups; some are located in the front row, directly facing the lake, at no extra charge. For those seeking a different kind of comfort, the campground offers Maxi-Caravans, comfortable accommodations located just a short walk from the lake and the beach, each named after a princess, designed to give families a vacation straight out of a fairy tale.

AMENITIES
The campground features an Information Desk at the reception, helpful for planning visits to the area’s most picturesque spots, alongside a small shop where you can buy toys, postcards, beach and pool supplies, newspapers, and souvenirs; there is also a postal service, fax, and Wi-Fi. Two modern restroom facilities offer hot showers with rechargeable electronic tokens, sinks, dishwashing sinks, and a laundry area with Miele washing machines and dryers; there is also a free RV service, a Kimik toilet, and a fully accessible bathroom for people with disabilities. The facility is environmentally conscious thanks to solar panels, recycling, LED lighting, and a brochure printed on FSC-certified paper. For meals, the bar, restaurant, and wood-fired pizzeria offer seasonal specialties, pizzas, breakfasts, and takeout, to be enjoyed in the dining room, on the veranda, or outdoors; the counter also offers bread, pasta, beverages, and local wines, while a supermarket is just 400 meters from the entrance. For four-legged friends, there’s the Doggy Park, a 200-square-meter fenced-in area with an agility course—completely free—and a veterinary clinic is nearby.

ACTIVITIES AND ENTERTAINMENT
The private sandy beach, sheltered in a quiet cove, is the heart of relaxation for adults and children alike, flanked by a playground featuring a tower, slide, basket swing, and spring-loaded play equipment. The semi-Olympic-size pool, with two different depths, a diving board, a slide for little ones, lounge chairs, changing rooms, and showers, also hosts a free aqua aerobics class; all around are sunbathing areas, a lawn, and a bar for a snack or a cold drink. Sports enthusiasts can try their hand at tennis courts, synthetic-turf soccer fields, and padel courts—all LED-lit—with free racket and ball rentals, or on the beach volleyball court with free admission; the game room offers billiards, foosball, and ping-pong. The entertainment team liven up the days with a mini-club for children, sports tournaments for teens, pool games, kids’ dance parties, dance nights, shows, and live music.
