LOCATION
The Camping & Chalet NATUR IDYLL SALTEN is located in San Genesio, on a quiet panoramic terrace above Bolzano, with views of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The property is situated on the Salto Plateau, between Bolzano and Merano, an ideal area for exploring South Tyrol’s natural beauty. Bolzano, the provincial capital, is easily accessible and offers opportunities for walking, shopping, and cultural visits, including the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology. Nearby attractions also include Castel Roncolo, the Earth Pyramids, and numerous trails through the Alpine landscape.
ACCOMMODATIONS AND CAMPSITES
The campground features over 38 campsites on the panoramic terrace, with views of the Dolomites. The campsites are equipped with water and electricity hookups, free Wi-Fi, and restroom facilities in a dedicated building with showers, sinks, a washing machine, and a dryer.
The chalets, suitable for 2 to 4 people, feature living and sleeping areas, two bedrooms, free Wi-Fi, TV, safe, bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, and private parking. Each chalet also offers a Private Spa with a HYDROSOFT wellness cabin, which combines steam and infrared. Guests can also request a breakfast basket featuring regional products.
AMENITIES
The property offers bathroom facilities with free hot showers, sinks, and a laundry room equipped with a washer and dryer. The Mini Market offers camping gear, hygiene and cleaning products, everyday items, and South Tyrolean specialties such as speck, cheese, honey, and wine.
There is also a bar and pizzeria, a gathering spot for breakfast, aperitifs, and dinner, serving pizzas, small specialties, and platters of speck and South Tyrolean cheeses. The campground also features a playground surrounded by nature, with areas for running and climbing, as well as a slide and a swing. Mountain bikes and e-bikes are available for rent.
ACTIVITIES AND ENTERTAINMENT
The area around San Genesio and Salto offers numerous opportunities for an active vacation: hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and carriage rides. The trails wind through larch forests, meadows, and alpine pastures, offering panoramic views of the Dolomites. Cycling enthusiasts can enjoy both easy rides and mountain bike trails leading to Merano 2000.
In winter, you can enjoy snowshoeing, walks in the snow, horseback riding, and horse-drawn carriage rides. San Genesio is also closely tied to the tradition of Haflinger horses. The surrounding area also features sports facilities including an outdoor pool, tennis courts, a climbing wall, and a bowling alley.
Attractions worth visiting include the Earth Pyramids, Roncolo Castle, and the South Tyrol Archaeological Museum. In Bolzano, you can also visit the historic center and, during the Christmas season, the Bolzano Christmas Market.
