Camping Badlerhof
In the heart of Val Venosta, nestled among the majestic peaks of the Ortles GroupOrtles range and the famous orchards of South Tyrol, lies the Camping Badlerhof in Lasa, also known as the "marble town". This town, nestled in an authentic rural setting, stands out for the quality of its organic products and the welcoming atmosphere of an Alpine village with about 4,000 residents. Just above Lasa, the renowned white marble is quarried—a stone that has crossed national borders, even reaching as far as New York. The campground is located in a strategic location for exploring the region’s attractions: the Via Claudia Augusta bike path, which connects Lake Resia to Verona, passes directly in front of the campground. From here, you can easily reach the Stelvio National Park, the Prader Sand nature reserve, the archaeological trails of the Senales Valley, and numerous cultural sites, castles, and museums in the area.
Accommodations
Camping Badlerhof offers well-maintained grassy campsites, all shaded by fruit trees and ornamental shrubs, perfect for staying even during the hottest months. The campsites vary in size: the Standardplatz up to 75 m², the Komfortplatz from 80 to 100 m² and the Premiumplatz from 105 to 120 m². Each site is equipped with electricity hookup, drinking water connection, and a gray water drain.
Inside the facility, there are modern and well-lit restrooms, with private showers equipped with a sink and mirror. For children, there is a dedicated bathroom with a bathtub, showers, a changing table, a toilet, and baby sinks. A small wellness area enhances the facilities with a hot tub with a waterfall, Turkish bath, Finnish sauna, aromatic showers, and relaxation room.
Facilities
The campground offers numerous amenities designed for guests’ comfort. The Badl Café, with its sunny terrace, is the perfect place to enjoy a South Tyrolean snack, a strudel, or ice cream. A common room open 24 hours a day, with a panoramic view of the mountains, is equipped with breakfast tables, board games, a TV, books, and foosball. The little ones can have fun in the playground with a slide, nest swing, trampoline, sandbox, toy tractors, and toy cars, while older children can enjoy a ping-pong table.
Guests also receive the VenostaCard, which allows for free use of public transportation throughout South Tyrol, making it easy to explore the area.
Activities
The Val Venosta is a paradise for hikers and cyclists. Camping Badlerhof is a perfect starting point for high-altitude hikes, treks through forests and alpine pastures, and bike rides along the Adige River. Organized activities in the surrounding area include the night hike to the Maseben Observatory, the sunrise experience on Lake Resia, and e-bike tours featuring a visit to the Schliniger Alm and a tasting of alpine cheeses.
There’s no shortage of educational and cultural experiences, including a visit to the Bio-Dorfsennerei in Prato allo Stelvio, exploring the world of bees in the Stelvio National Park, the bread-making workshop at the Niederwieshof, a visit to the archeoParc in Val Senales, and the Marmor Erlebnistour with admission to the Marmorwelt in Las
