Asked to choose among the fifteen objects of a list containing the most representative things of the holiday in a tent, excluding the tent itself and the “survival kit”, the campers declared an absolute winner: the king of “Essentials for Camping” is the camping roll or air mattress with 31.6% of preferences.
Maybe thinking about the many sleepless nights in tent, spent getting pebbles out of the way, the campers declared the camping roll or air mattress for unanimous vote, giving the coffee maker just the second position with 12.4% of votes and relegating the couple lots of wine and beer at the third place with just 10.2% of votes.
The podium shows that Italians and Germans agree, at least when it comes to drinks. On the other side, the Dutch put the bicycle on the top step of the podium: for open-air tourists of the Netherlands the two wheels are fundamental, both in campsite and in town. The accord of the European campers is confirmed also in their rejection to foreign trends: a good book is preferable to marshmallows or SUP/surfboard.
