Some touristic information
Lidi Ferrara is home to seven famous “beaches”, known as the Lidi Ferraresi. The collection of towns is home to scenic waterways, seaside resorts and vast lagoons. Each town has its own character and charm. Much of the area is occupied by the Delta del Po Park, a popular destination for visitors from around the world.
Sights and Attractions
Lidi Ferrara stretches over 25 kilometres, much of it along the coast. Travelling to the seven towns of Lidi Ferrara is a must. Each town offers a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the water. The beaches are great gateways for windsurfing, sailing or diving in the waters of the Adriatic. Lido di Volano, Lido delle Nazioni, Lido di Pomposa, Lido degli Scacchi, Lido degli Estensi, Lido di spina and Porto Garibaldi are all located along the coast of the Adriatic Sea, while Comacchio is found inland. Comacchio is a unique town famous for its eel festival, stunning architecture and scenic bridges.
The Delta del Po Regional Park honours that natural history of the region, as well as its culture and art. There are dunes, lagoons, fishing huts, levees and more to see in the park. A series of canals link the area with the sea. The Po Delta can be explored on foot or by bike, as well as by boat. Bird watching is also a popular activity in the park. It is even possible to cycle between each of the seven towns in Lidi Ferrera. There are several campsites for anyone embarking on a long-distance trip through the park or wishing to spend a night in the park.
Ferrara is the provincial capital with several palaces that date from the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. Slightly off the beaten path, Ferrara has winding medieval cobblestoned streets, a fairytale-like castle and an imposing Gothic-style cathedral. A path along the top of the city's medieval walls can also be explored on foot or by bike.
