Some touristic information
The ancient seaside town of Cervo sits atop a hill in the Italian Riviera. The scenic town is located in Imperia, a province in the Liguria region of north-western Italy.
Sights and Attractions
Cervo started as a Roman mansion on the Via Julia August. One of Italy's most beautiful villages, much of Cervo boasts the character of the sixteenth century, with towers and walls throughout. The baroque Church of San Giovanni Battista overlooks the sea and features as distinctive concave façade. Other attractions include the Romanesque Oratory of Santa Catherine and the International Festival of Chamber Music, which takes place in July and August.
Activities
The best way to explore Cervo is on foot. Outside of the old town, there are ruins dotting the hills surrounding the town accessibly by quiet mountain trails through pine forests and olive orchards. Camping is also popular in the area and there are camp sites among the lush woodland overlooking the town, as well as near the seaside.
