Natural attractions

The Strait of Bonifacio to the south separates Corsica from Sardinia and is known as a highly dangerous area of sea due to the strong currents and rocks concealed beneath the water. But the landscape along the coast is breath-taking and the rocks stand in clear, blue waters.
The Lavezzi islands are also found in the Strait of Bonifacio, a group of particularly beautiful rocks that are a favourite spot for tourists who choose southern Corsica for their holiday. Visitors can go scuba diving in the waters around Lavezzi and the nearby island of Cavallo.
Cucuruzzu is an archaeological site, a fortified village with a beautiful view over the surrounding area. It can be reached by following a trail that leads to a flight of steps and small bars and lodges along the way.

The best beaches

To the south we have the 3km of Palombaggia beach, with its white sand descending gently into the sea’s clear turquoise waters, Piantarella Beach, which offers access by sea to the Ile de Piana and finally Tonnara Beach, ideal for fans of kitesurfing and windsurfing.
