Corsica

Corsica - L’Ile de beauté

L’Ile de beauté, which belongs to France politically and Italy geographically: this is Corsica, a region with a wealth of natural and cultural heritage.
Choose whether to spend your holiday in one of the campsites or villages on the island, which is divided into North Corsica or South Corsica. The capital of the northern part is Bastia, an ancient citadel which was transformed into dynamic and welcoming city over time with many Baroque treasures, picturesque streets and historical churches.
The capital of the southern part is Ajaccio, a small, elegant Mediterranean city with plenty of interesting buildings and white sandy beaches overlooking the Sanguinary Islands. This is a part of the Corsican landscape that should not be missed.
The island offers a total of 1000km of varying coastline from north to south: the north is characterised by the shape of Cap Corse and the south by the cliffs of the Strait of Bonifacio. Sandy beaches stretch out to the eats while the rocky coves and promontories create a livelier landscape to the west.

Things to do in Corsica

Corsica’s diversity makes a lot of different sports possible: from skiing on the Col de Vergio, in the north of the island, to paragliding down from Monte Cinto in the north east. Then there are the rivers and lakes for kayaking and canoeing not to mention the climbing and walking along some of the island’s beautiful trails. The varied landscape is perfect for a fun and active holiday.
Visitors who love exploring towns and picturesque villages must not miss Bastia and Calvi in the north, Porto to the west and Ajaccio, Porto Vecchio and Bonifacio to the south. Most of the pretty villages are located in the north: Ota, Lama, Erbalunga, Macinaggio and Balagne are just a few interesting spots.
